The Utility Meter Installer requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Tests, adjusts, and repairs electrical meters. Being an Utility Meter Installer is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. May be required to be certified in an area of specialty with 2-4 years of experience. In addition, Utility Meter Installer relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. UMS is seeking hard-working, self-motivated individuals, to fill Entry level Utility Meter Installer's roles.
The successful candidate should be self-motivated, have a great work ethic, and be able to work well with little supervision in various environments or inclement weather.
This position may require traveling to various job sites located in the continental United States as projects are completed or change in status. You would be compensated for your travel time between 2 active UMS projects.
Meter Installers are responsible for checking, replacing, and testing meters (water, electric, or gas). Training is provided, however previous experience in field/utility installations is preferred.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
UMS has designed a Pay-for-Performance structure, in an effort, to reward our strong performers.
No matter the project/location, you will make a minimum of $15 per hour. You will also be able to earn Production Based Incentive payments, on each paycheck. The Production Based Incentive is linked to performance (i.e., the number of meters and ancillary items that you properly install).
