Utilization Management Director jobs in Antioch, CA
Utilization Management Director leads and directs the utilization review staff and function for a healthcare facility. Determines policies and procedures that incorporate best practices and ensure effective utilization reviews. Being a Utilization Management Director manages and monitors both concurrent reviews to ensure that the patient is getting the right care in a timely and cost-effective way and retrospective reviews after treatment has been completed. Provides analysis and reports of significant utilization trends, patterns, and impacts to resources. Additionally, Utilization Management Director consults with physicians and other professionals to develop improved utilization of effective and appropriate services. Requires a master's degree. Typically reports to top management. Typically requires Registered Nurse(RN). The Utilization Management Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Utilization Management Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. About Us:Spectrum Healthcare Resources is a leading provider of healthcare professionals in various settings, dedicated to delivering excellent patient care. We are currently seeking a passionate and skilled Registered Nurse for our Utilization Management position at Travis Air Force Base.
Position Overview: As a Registered Nurse in Utilization Management, you will play a crucial role in coordinating patient care, ensuring optimal utilization of resources, and advocating for patients and their families. Your expertise will guide the development and execution of comprehensive care plans, fostering collaboration among healthcare teams and supporting patients through their healthcare journey.
Responsibilities:
- Identify patients for case management, collecting comprehensive medical information, and evaluating established care plans
- Collaborate with patients, families, primary providers, and healthcare teams to develop effective care plans
- Coordinate care and facilitate communication among all involved parties
- Advocate for patients to ensure timely and appropriate care and education
- Effectively communicate with patients, families, and staff in a professional and compassionate manner
- Uphold medical privacy and confidentiality standards (HIPAA)
- Utilize computer applications and software for efficient case management
Qualifications:
- Graduate from a college or university accredited by ACEN, NLNAC, CCNE, or as otherwise identified
- Possess strong organization, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to articulate medical requirements to diverse audiences in a courteous manner
- Skilled in communicating with patients who may be physically or mentally ill, uncooperative, or emotionally distressed
- Knowledgeable in AAAHC and TJC accreditation standards
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, MS Outlook, and internet applications
Additional Requirements:
- Current RN license in the state of California
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in utilization management or a related field
- Certification in Case Management (CCM) preferred
- Experience working in a military healthcare setting is a plus
