Vendor Quality Control Analyst jobs in Dothan, AL

Vendor Quality Control Analyst evaluates vendor operations, products, and services for compliance with government and company quality standards. Conducts audits and testing of products, materials, and processes to measure effectiveness and compliance with company expectations. Being a Vendor Quality Control Analyst analyzes and monitors metrics and KPIs to suggest improvement initiatives. Works with vendors and identifies alternative vendors to mitigate risks and resolve problems. Additionally, Vendor Quality Control Analyst assists with drafting and negotiating service-level agreements to ensure performance/quality metrics, responsibilities, expectations, and penalties are adequately defined. Prepares reports and updates on vendor status and quality. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Vendor Quality Control Analyst occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.   • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Examines cut-sheets/drawings to determine such information as size, type of material of product and results of quality tests.

    Inspects product to determine compliance with order specifications, company's quality control system for compliance with legal requirements, and shipping and packing facilities for conformity to specified standards.

    Examines finished products for weld quality, paint quality, dimensions, and appearance. Examines work piece for scale, cracks, shade variances, or unpainted areas.

    Records number and type of units rejected and reasons for rejection. Marks other defects such as loose welds and loose or missing parts.

    Inspects identification markings on work piece to ensure specified location and view-ability. Address quality concerns/issues and recommend solutions in periodic quality meetings.

    Other duties may be assigned.

    This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    High school education preferred and/or previous factory experience preferred.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in standard units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

    REASONING ABILITY

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to adhere to delegation of authority and lead by instructions of management and supervision.

    Attendance is an essential job requirement defined as having regular, consistent, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance including the ability to work regular hours and shifts, overtime before and after shifts and on weekends.
