A leading global trading house is looking for a seasoned Power / Energy Trader to add to their growing Commodities platform. The firm have made several key hires across the franchise over the last few years and plan continued growth to further accelerate their excellent performance in the market.

Suitable candidates will have a strong track record in Power / Energy trading with a focus on financials / derivatives – although candidates with a hybrid book with the physical market will be considered.

The firm operates with an incredibly entrepreneurial mindset, so candidates must be self-sufficient in their trading style, but willing to collaborate as part of the greater franchise. They have market leading infrastructure from a technology and execution perspective.

The group have offices in NYC, Chicago, Miami, Los Angeles, Houston and some presence in Canada.

Role requirements:

• Analyse short-term data to look for profitable trading strategies through domestic US markets.
• Build & implement efficient and profitable trading strategies.
• Make decisions quickly and mitigate risk through accurate execution
• Apply market and internal Risk & Compliance structure

Suitable candidates will have:

• Entrepreneurial mindset and strong analytical capabilities
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced and changing environment
• Proven experience in the power trading industry
• Excellent grasp of the market fundamentals and power asset modeling
• Strong statistical and quantitative analysis abilities
