Administers injections, performs venipunctures, applies wound dressings, cleans teeth, and takes vital signs of animal. Being a Veterinary Assistant requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. May be required to be certified/licensed. Additionally, Veterinary Assistant is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision of a veterinarian. Who You Are:
You are an experienced Veterinary Assistant who is a self-starter and enjoys the variety that emergency medicine brings. You have previous experience with proper animal restraint, basic surgery prep, and assisting veterinary technicians and doctors in a clinical setting. Experience with IV catheter placement and venipuncture is a plus, but not required. If you enjoy the adrenaline rush of emergency medicine, this job is for you!
Schedule:
We understand that everyone has different scheduling needs, so we offer some flexibility with our shifts. If you need three 12-hour shifts or five 8-hour shifts, we are happy to accommodate you. This is a full-time position with some weekends and holidays required
Compensation: Starting at $18 /hour depending upon experience and education. Shift differentials are applicable where appropriate.
