An international paper products manufacturer is seeking a new VP of Operations to grow their U.S. operations and eventually their North American operations. The company’s goal for this position is to become the COO for all of North America. Will be responsible for the management and continuous development of all operations (including production, maintenance, mill support functions, supply chain, planning, procurement) for efficiency, effectiveness, quality, safety and compliance with the ultimate goal of growing the business.

REQUIREMENTS:

• A B.S. Degree is required. Ideally in an Engineering Discipline (especially pulp & paper), but a degree in business administration will still be seriously considered. An advanced degree like an MBA is be a strong plus.
• Must have 15 to 20 years of experience in the following industries / products: paper making or converting, printing, pressure sensitive adhesive, silicone coatings, and/or packaging materials - preferably paper based.
• Must have at least min 5 to 10 years of experience in operations management; with a proven track record of building a business in the $100MMs.
• Must have had P&L Responsibility
• Must have experience managing a Unionized operation - contract negotiations are also a must.
• Must have experience working for an International Corporation or interfacing with International operations.
• Lean management expertise (belt training preferable) in the areas of Process Excellence and Operations Excellence is required.
• Multi-lingual capability would be a big plus, but not required.
