GoodThings Visual Merchandiser

Reports to: Store Manager and Visual Design Leader
Store Merchandising:
- Create effective displays & arrange merchandise according to GoodThings Guidelines.
- Focus on telling the “story,” visual weights, shopability, seasonality and shrinkage control.
- Identify potential customer safety issues when establishing displays; ensure safety protocols are followed.
- Create displays to minimize potential for product damages.
- Regularly freshen, rearrange stock and maintain displays.
- Maintain and examine exterior and interior window displays daily.
- Develop and train sales team and store receiver for consistency in presentations.
- Take photo of displays and signage, post on GoodThings team site as directed by Visual Leader.
Daily Transfer & Backstock – in collaboration with the Store Manager and Receiver
- Support training, development, communication and leadership of Store Receiver(s) in processing all transfers, BOPIS, shipping and general merchandise placement, fill-in and recovery.
- Regulate quantity of merchandise for sales floor, backstock the balance.
- Partner with Store Receiver to maintain efficient processing area, clean, neat, organized.
- Monitor execution of outbound transfers on time, packaged to minimize damage.
- Ensure timely, accurate processing of all transfers, BOPIS, shipping.
Communication & Customer Service
- Communicate with Store Leadership on delegating projects.
- Assist with ringing sales when necessary, provide product information to staff.
- Provide exemplary customer service.
Misc.
- Prioritize and complete tasks as assigned by Store Manager and Visual Design Leader.
- Assist in special projects, maintenance, clean-up and reorganization as needed.
- Follow store policies, security procedures.
- React quickly to fast-paced, ever changing retail environment.
- Additional schedule availability required during our retail holiday seasons and special events.
- Full understanding of the critical work times for your position.
- Clean neat organized stockrooms, visual areas.
Walk Thru
- Participate in store walk thru with Company Leadership.
- Evaluate effectiveness of displays and develop plan for changes in collaboration with Visual Design Leader.
Requirements:
Previous merchandising experience, strong visual aesthetic, good spatial relations, excellent communication, creativity, and ability to prioritize. Ability to stand for entirety of shift, repetitively bend/lift/reach/twist, go up/down stairs to retrieve merchandise, and lift/move up to 40 pounds. Willingness to work on ladder.
