Evaluates patients' interests, qualifications, and limitations to develop appropriate employment objectives for them. Being a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor requires a bachelor's/master's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. To be a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed. The Role:
As the Vocational Specialist you will be responsible for providing employment support and planning for individuals seeking or receiving employment services. This is a role that requires continuous and proactive communication and a positive attitude to succeed as you will be in communication with employers, teachers, and other’s that the client encounters. You will also be networking in establishing support for individuals contemplating, searching, choosing, and maintaining employment.
What we’re looking for:
• High School diploma or GED
• Experience in employment and/or experience in the educational arena, sales and/or other industry experience from which a skills and knowledge base is transferable to the field of vocational planning preferred but willing to train the right candidate
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to utilize technology provided to perform requirements of the job
• Hold a valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle liability coverage.
