Production Paint / Process Technician

Job Summary

Performs spray painting, silk screening and photo resistive processing under minimum supervision.

Receives Direction From:

Manufacturing supervisor/manager

Provides Direction to:

No supervisory responsibilities

Examples of Essential Functions:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Mix of paint to prescribed ratios per work instructions
• Paint product per provided drawings and/or work instructions
• Clean of mixing and spray paint equipment
• Use of automated sprayer in certain applications
• Use of silkscreen equipment
• Painting of multiple materials including but not limited to aluminum, plastic, and steel
• Surface preparation of products to be painted by manual and mechanical means.

Qualifications Guidelines

• Must be able to read, write and comprehend English
• Eligible employee must be able and willing to cross train in other areas to support production needs

Education/training/experience:

High school diploma or GED

2 years of spray booth painting experience

Knowledge of:

Basic principles of electronics, electro-mechanical devices and assembly, Plastic molding technology, Mil spec and DLA requirements for switches and lighted face plates or equivalent experience. As well as Manufacturing Procedures, Document Control, MRP, FMEA, Control Plans, Lean Manufacturing.

Physical Standards:

• This position requires frequently sitting, standing, reaching, walking, and handling/grasping of materials in manufacturing.
• This position may rarely require kneeling, bending, squatting.
• Must have finger dexterity, ability to use keyboard/ten key.
• Good eyesight for use of microscopes and small part assembly.
• Able to periodically participate in the inspection of company machinery and operations.
• Reach, stoop and lift office files, records or reports, typically weighing 20 pounds or less.
• Ability to push/pull or lift up to 25 pounds.

• Constantly sitting, standing, walking, and operating a computer workstation.
