Waste Water Treatment Plant Manager supervises the operations and maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant to ensure compliance with regulatory procedures and reporting practices. Oversees sampling and testing systems, and the testing and maintenance of pumps, conveyors, blowers, and other equipment. Being a Waste Water Treatment Plant Manager ensures staff is up-to-date with all federal, state, and local regulations and environmental guidelines. Entry level work going through a training program in water treatment, or water pollution control facilities, leading to certification by the State of Florida as a Certified Water Treatment Plant Operator. Work is performed under close supervision.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS:
Knowledge of and the ability to perform arithmetic computations involving whole numbers, fractions and decimals. Ability to appropriately apply basic chemistry, microbiology, mathematics and technology concepts as related to the process. Ability to properly maintain tools and equipment Demonstrate ability to read comprehend and correctly apply written instructions, operation and maintenance manuals, plans, and other job-related materials. Ability to work rotating shifts as required.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL SKILLS:
Ability to climb stairs in order to obtain samples, maintain work areas including lime machines and chemical feeders. Task require the regular and at times sustained performance of moderately physically demanding work typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and that may involve the lifting carrying pushing and or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (50 pounds) , the ability to work in dusty areas while maintaining / clean work areas especially at lime machines. The ability to bend and collect samples and physically shovel lime grit waste. The ability to stand for long periods of time to perform chemical analysis.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
Works inside and/or outside in various weather conditions with noise, chemicals, electrical energy or radiant energy, and odors. Works in confined spaces and slippery surfaces. Around electrically energized equipment and/or uneven surfaces and/or heights up to 60 feet

May be required to work during declared emergencies. The employee’s Supervisor or Plant Manager will determine who will be required to work.
