Title: Water Treatment Operator

Reports to: Operations Supervisor
Status: Non-Exempt

Job Summary:
PIC Group is seeking a Water Treatment Operator to support water treatment operations in a 600MW Combined Cycle Power Plant which is in Graham, TX. The Water Treatment Operator is responsible for sample collection and analysis of power plant water, and process water systems. Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the Water Treatment Operator will prepare reports, sketches, logs, and other up-to-date records of work performed. The Water Treatment Operator will inform concerned parties regarding test results within the required time frame.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs analyses and procedures to determine properties or concentrations of various materials, trace metals, water quality and related testing.
• Conducts tests and investigations in connection with operational concerns, such as water quality and corrosion.
• Reads, records, and interprets standard water test descriptions, instruction manuals, drawings, and apparatus diagrams.
• Prepares reports, logs, and other up-to-date records of work performed.
• Informs concerned parties regarding test results within the required time frame.
• Operates a wide variety of chemical and electronic instruments such as moisture, pH, and other chemical laboratory apparatus.
• Maintains instruments, apparatus, and other test equipment in good working order.
• Enters test data and other records into computer data files as required.
• Prepares chemical solutions or mixtures for use in analyses or procedures to be performed.
• Performs daily walk-downs, rounds and inspections on areas of responsibility.

Job Requirements:

• Ability to work independently and as an overall contributing team member.
• Must have strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Must be organized and pay attention to detail.
• Ability to think and perform in a stressful situation.
• Must be able to work extended hours on short notice when required.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to climb stairs and ladders.
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.

Education / Experience:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• 2 years work experience in an industrial environment.
• Previous experience with water treatment or power industry is a plus but not required.
