Wealth Management Specialist develops individualized wealth management financial plans and recommendations to help clients attain financial goals by selecting investment solutions to minimize risk and grow wealth. Uses broad knowledge of investment products to educate clients on available investment options and create planning scenarios for retirement, education savings, and other financial objectives. Being a Wealth Management Specialist keeps abreast of economic conditions and new financial products to inform and advise clients on potential enhancements to existing financial plans and create up-sell opportunities. Monitors client portfolios to ensure appropriate risk profile. Additionally, Wealth Management Specialist follows all regulatory and organizational policies and procedures. May be involved with selling or coordinating the purchase of additional financial products or services to clients. Requires a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business or equivalent. May have the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation. Typically reports to a manager. The Wealth Management Specialist work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.   • The Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, Division of Alaska Army National Guard Facilities Maintenance is recruiting for TWO Building Maintenance Specialist positions!

    These positions are available to State of Alaska residents only.

    What you will be doing:
    This is a professional level position that works independently with very little supervision. Individuals must understand building design and construction processes along with standard procurement processes.

    You will perform contracting and project management tasks for State of Alaska and Federal Government facilities. These duties will require you to contract and manage construction projects which include large general maintenance projects, building repair, building modification, and managing building support services.

    As a Building Management Specialist you will be responsible for evaluating field conditions, making recommendations and courses of action, preparing cost estimates, requesting funding, preparing bid documents, writing scopes of work and authorizing contract awards.

    You will also authorize and code payment of invoices while tracking assigned project progression with periodic project inspections.

    In addition to the competencies listed in the minimum qualifications for this job classification do you have the following position competencies we are looking for?
    • Contracting/Procurement: Knowledge of various types of contracts, techniques, or requirements (for example, Federal Acquisitions Regulations) for contracting or procurement, and contract negotiation and administration.
    • Cost Estimation and Analysis: Knowledge of the principles, practices, and methods used to determine, estimate, and analyze costs, including determining life cycle costs, application of cost models, and evaluation of cost realism.

    The successful applicants must pass a federal background check to qualify for military base access, which is required with this position’s work location on base. The background check will include fingerprinting.     • Project Management: Knowledge of the principles, methods, or tools for developing, scheduling, coordinating, and managing projects and resources, including monitoring and inspecting costs, work, and contractor performance.

    • Safety Engineering: Knowledge of the concepts, principles, theories, and methods to identify, control, mitigate, and eliminate safety hazards in the design and use of facilities, equipment, operations, and work processes.

    Equivalent to those typically gained by:

    Education or training in engineering, architecture, business administration, or a closely related field and/or progressively responsible experience in facilities construction, operation, maintenance or repair; building management, structural engineering, architecture, or licensed general contracting.

    Professional experience may include work as an Engineering Assistant 1 with the State of Alaska or the equivalent with another employer.

    “Competencies” means a combination of interrelated knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors that enable a person to act effectively in a job or situation. This includes ensuring the PD is in OPD and within recency standards for recruitment.

    “Professional experience” means work that is creative, analytical, evaluative, and interpretive; requires a range and depth of specialized knowledge of the profession's principles, concepts, theories, and practices; and is performed with the power or right to decide or act according to one's own judgment.
