Fire/Security Alarm Systems Project Manager
Optimum Fire & Security is actively seeking a Fire/Security Alarm Systems Project Manager. This position will handle the management of our local and federal construction contracts. A major focus will be on finance and people management . This position does require working from our company's office and at our job sites. Our office is located in Wilmington, North Carolina. Relocation assistance will be considered for the right candidate.
Duties/Responsibilities:
LMA (Lead, Manage, Accountability):
- Daily focus on the most optimal way for the entire team to invest their time, resolve inevitable blockers, and provide guidance as needed
- Oversee construction projects and team member productivity, building a highly inclusive culture ensuring team members thrive and organizational outcomes are met
- Define team roles, accountabilities, and decision-making
- Attract, manage, and mentor an enthusiastic team; support team members as they expand their capabilities and consult with internal stakeholders
- Lead employees to encourage maximum performance and dedication
- Evaluate performance by analyzing and interpreting data and metrics
- Promote an organizational culture of excellence, adaptability, efficiency, continuous improvement, and innovation
- Work Collaboratively with Finance, Office Logistics and Ops/Construction to ensure completion of projects in a timely & cost effective manner.
- Help establish and execute organization's operational priorities on a weekly, monthly, and long-term basis
- Monitoring current projects includes reporting status, progress updates, and identifying areas that require corrective actions
- Drive company results from both an operational and financial perspective working closely with the Construction Manager and other key executive team members
Financial:
- Produce and analyze reports on data to determine operational excellence and areas for improvement
- Forecasting
- Budgets
- Provide accurate and timely reports outlining the operational condition of the company
Customer Service:
- Maintain compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations in all communities
- Build relationships with applicable AHJ’s, GC’s, and EC's for construction projects, vendors, and subcontractors
Manage the Day to Day Activities of the Operations Team:
- Verify time sheets for all division members daily and notify members of corrections that need to be made prior to approval
- Ensure prompt payments for work performed
- Manage and evolve risk and compliance systems and procedures

Perform Division Specific Duties:
- Perform annual and quarterly reviews with each division member during the appropriate time frame.
- Assist team members with achieving training and personal development goals
- Maintain quality assurance off all services offered and performed by the division
- Maintain fiscal responsibilities and budgets tied to the division
Communications with Team and Customers
- Communicating customer and team member needs through the mediums used by Optimum (i.e google drive, email, Jobtread)
- Following up on if customers and team members needs have been addressed using proper mediums used by Optimum (i.e google drive, email, Jobtread)
- Attend weekly meeting associated with the position
- Being prepared and on time for meetings
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to track profit margins, work in progress and cashflow.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Extensive knowledge of electrical and fire codes
- Customer service
Education and Experience:
- Five plus years of related experience in the fire alarm industry preferred
- 3 years of project management experience is preferred
- NICET Level 2 or equivalent certifications is not required but highly preferred
- Bachelor's degree, military service, vocational/technical/ school training or equivalent is preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
