Summary  

The Wellness Manager is responsible for properly ordering and receiving shipment that is delivered to their location, per the Lassens Receiving Procedure, ensuring inventory within their department is accurate. The Wellness Manager is also responsible for additional tasks such as stocking, facing, inventory maintenance, providing exceptional customer service, processing special orders, and maintaining the appearance and integrity of the Wellness Department. The Wellness Manager creates and maintains department displays, ensures all pricing is accurate by placing the correct shelf tags and sale signs throughout the department, and shares their knowledge of Lassens monthly AD’s and sales in the Wellness Department with customers. The Wellness Manager is responsible for supervising and coordinating activities of Team Members in Lassens Wellness Department and providing a high level of outstanding customer service by giving prompt, friendly and knowledgeable service to all Guests. The Wellness Manager uses their knowledge of vitamins, supplements and cosmetic items to answer questions and educate customers within the proper parameters.

Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

1. Assigns duties to workers and schedules break periods in accordance with State Labor Laws and Lassens policies. Assists in scheduling work hours, and approving time off requests. 
2. Trains Team Members in store policies, department procedures, and job duties. 
3. Orders merchandise, supplies, and equipment.
4. Follows and enforces “Lassens Sup/Cos Stocking & Facing Policy”. 
5. Compares record of merchandise ordered with merchandise received, and reports discrepancies to the Primary Receiver to control costs and maintain correct inventory levels. 
6. Inspects merchandise on the sales floor to ensure it is correctly priced and displayed. 
7. Hangs correct shelf labels and signs in front of correct products using UPC# and date range as exclusive criteria. 
8. Works with Lassens Regional Supplement and Body Care Buyer and Store Manager to determine additions to or deletions of inventory, based in part by information obtained through careful and frequent evaluation of Lassens Chain-wide Database Sales Reports, and current market trends. 
9. Responsible for scheduling, conducting, and working with the Scan Coordinator and Store Manager to ensure that all inventory maintenance tasks are completed within the Wellness Department. 
10. Listens to customer complaints, examines returned merchandise, and resolves problems to restore and promote good public relations. 
11. Follows and enforces “Lassens Special Order Policy & Procedures”; strictly maintains a working “Special Order Book” in accordance with Lassens Special Order Policy. 
12. Assists team in research and acquisition of any item/items requested by customers in a timely manner. 
13. Assists Team Members in completing difficult sales. 
14. Sells merchandise. 
15. Plans, follows through with, and maintains departments merchandise and promotional displays. 
16. Consistently displays the ability to properly merchandise goods in the department. 
17. Displays an extensive understanding and knowledge of natural food supplements, their effects on the human body, and makes suggestions to consumers based on this knowledge. 
18. Strictly adheres to guidelines regarding the sale of supplements. Never “Prescribes”, makes claims in regards to the effectiveness, or purpose for which a supplement might be taken. 
19. Maintains a minimum Gross Margin of 50% for Vitamins and 44% for Cosmetics. 
20. Maximizes Gross Margin potential through effective promotional buying. Orders appropriate amounts of stock for items that are currently being sold to us at larger discounts than normal. Follows the Auto Order Procedure to order products for the Wellness Department.
21. Attends off-site workshops, trainings, Expo's, and Events per Store Manager and General Manager’s instructions. 
22. Assists and contributes to Team Building and positive morale.
23. All other duties assigned by management. 

Supervisory Responsibilities 

A Wellness Manager supervises 1 to 5 employees in the Wellness Department. A Wellness Manager’s responsibilities include interviewing, and training Team Members; planning, assigning, and directing work; regularly reviewing and responding to communications from the Administrative Team on the Daily News & Actions document; appraising and documenting performance and job results, rewarding and disciplining Team Members as needed; addressing complaints and resolving problems. A Wellness Manager carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Education and/or Experience

Three to six months related experience and/or training.
