Workers' Compensation Claims Manager manages accountabilities in the administration of first and third party worker's compensation claims. Manages domestic and/or international claim management strategies critical to the organization's success. Being a Workers' Compensation Claims Manager is responsible for reporting, investigation, and analysis; litigation management; resolution/outcome management; and the delivery of claim information. Manages litigated and moderately complex claims and is entrusted with significant settlement authority. Additionally, Workers' Compensation Claims Manager creates and develops relationships with claims adjusters, insurers, outside legal counsel, and other claims related parties. Directs workers' compensation claims policies and procedures within the claim information analysis. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Workers' Compensation Claims Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. Main Purpose of Job
To review, analyze, investigate, and process Workers’ Compensation claims and related documents, and route action documents sent to claims queues to appropriate parties via CompHub in an equitable and timely manner which also includes hearing related findings per the established rules & procedures of the Workers' Compensation law.
POSITION DUTIES
The main purpose of the Claims Reviewer is to review, analyze, investigate, and process Workers' Compensation claims and related documents, and route action documents sent to claims queues to appropriate parties via CompHub in an equitable and timely manner which also includes hearing related findings per the established rules and procedures of the Workers' Compensation law. Responsible for reviewing and processing claim related documents received in the claims queues including wages statements, enter/strike appearances via CompHub in accordance with the established procedures. Reviewing and processing all hearing related documents received in claims queues�CompHub, such as emergency hearings, rehearing, postponements, other motions and petitions, withdraw issues, etc. in accordance with the established procedures. Reviewing and processing request for hearings (Issues) received in the�CompHub�queues and entering the information into the�CompHub�in accordance with the established procedures. Responsible for reviewing, coding, and processing Workers Compensation claims (regular, death, and medical). Responsible for processing all claims (regular, death and medical) through CompHub�for generation of copies to all essential parties. Monitor undeliverable mail-notifying parties and maintaining current business names and addresses. Responsible for handling incoming and outgoing telephone inquiries from employers, insurance companies, attorneys, and claimants that require further clarification or additional information for processing documents received in accordance with the established procedures. Providing backup coverage for the Public Service Division for incoming inquiries. Analyzing, reviewing and processing claim related insurance corrections. Responsible for reviewing and processing award order corrections in accordance with the established procedures. Reviewing temporary total (TT) and compensation deferred (CD) orders for insured & non-insured claims and entering the information in�CompHub�in accordance with the established procedures.� Reviewing and processing C-40 responses, through analyzing claims and entering required data into CompHub.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. Experience: One year of clerical experience handling compensation claims or three years of general clerical experience. Notes: 1. Candidates may substitute additional general clerical experience on a year-for-year basis for the required education. 2.�Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Workers’�Compensation Claims Examining classifications or Workers’�Compensation Claims Examining specialty codes in the Legal and Kindred field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required�experience.�
SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS
The following is a required qualification. Candidates�MUST�possess the following: 6 months experience working with claims and� 1 year of data entry experience
