The Airline Pilot determines flight routes, speed, and take off and landing times to fulfill scheduling requirements. Ensures that trip of assigned flight (aircraft larger than 12,500 pounds at takeoff) is conducted in the safest manner possible. Being an Airline Pilot possesses current airline transport certificate with necessary type ratings. Must stay current with federal and local flight regulations. In addition, Airline Pilot requires a minimum of 5,000 hours of flight experience. Airline Pilot's years of experience requirement may be unspecified.
