Job Description

The Automation Controls Technician I provides setup, configuration, troubleshooting and repair of electrical control systems and prototypes. Supports the engineering design and development of electrical control and automation systems and devices. Being an Automation Controls Technician I documents testing procedures, and measures and records performance results following established methods. Assists with testing of systems, devices, and instruments. In addition, Automation Controls Technician I maintains the inventory of supplies and tools used for testing and maintenance. Typically requires an associate degree in engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Being an Automation Controls Technician I works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Working as an Automation Controls Technician I typically requires 1-3 years of related experience, or may need 0 years of experience with additional specialized training and/or certification.
