Job Description

The Aviation Electrician cuts and strips wire, insulates connections, and performs all other duties necessary in the installation process. Installs and repairs electrical wiring and/or cable on aircraft in adherence to established specifications. Being an Aviation Electrician may be required to verify accuracy and quality in accordance with established control procedures. May maintain manuals and maintenance documentation. In addition, Aviation Electrician requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Being an Aviation Electrician has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. Works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Working as an Aviation Electrician typically requires 3-5 years of related experience, or may have 2 years experience plus an associates degree, or additional training or certification.
