The Chemical Research & Development Engineering Director designs research studies, experimentation, and testing of new products and processes. Directs the chemical engineering function in the design and implementation of new and enhanced processes for the manufacturing of chemicals and related products. Being a Chemical Research & Development Engineering Director ensures regulatory and quality compliance are built into processes. Develops and optimizes manufacturing procedures and processes that follow best practices. In addition, Chemical Research & Development Engineering Director typically requires a master's degree in chemical engineering. Typically reports to senior management. The Chemical Research & Development Engineering Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure.
