The Chief Academic Officer - MD develops and implements program policies, goals, and objectives that ensure compliance with accreditation standards set by governing bodies such as the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). Leads and oversees the physician residency program of a university-affiliated healthcare organization. Being a Chief Academic Officer - MD leads the recruitment and selection process of resident physicians. Collaborates with faculty members and other stakeholders to develop and deliver a comprehensive curriculum covering the medical knowledge, clinical skills, and professional competencies required for physicians. In addition, Chief Academic Officer - MD develops evaluation mechanisms and processes to conduct regular assessments, provide feedback, and support residents' well-being and academic progress. Requires a MD. Requires State License to Practice Medicine. Typically reports to top management. The Chief Academic Officer - MD manages a business unit, division, or corporate function with major organizational impact. Establishes overall direction and strategic initiatives for the given major function or line of business.
