The Chief Collections Officer ensures all collections policies are followed. Develops overall corporate policies regarding collections of overdue/delinquent accounts. Being a Chief Collections Officer may work with legal counsel or outside collections agencies to handle overdue accounts. Monitors collections activities and provides recommendations for improvement. In addition, Chief Collections Officer may require an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Chief Collections Officer manages a business unit, division, or corporate function with major organizational impact. Establishes overall direction and strategic initiatives for the given major function or line of business.
