What Should I Pay?
The Clinical Psychiatrist performs initial psychiatric assessments, develops individualized care plans, and implements treatment for the patient. Evaluates, diagnoses and treats patients with mental illnesses through a combination of personal counseling (psychotherapy), psychoanalysis, hospitalization, and/or medication. Being a Clinical Psychiatrist monitors and records client progress, and amends treatment plan according to patient response. Prescribes psychopharmacological medications as needed. In addition, Clinical Psychiatrist requires an advanced degree of Doctor of Medicine (M. D.) and completion of a psychiatry residency. Typically reports to a medical director. Typically requires board certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). Requires a state license to practice.
