The Cloud Computing Director makes strategic decisions and recommendations about the development and modification of cloud applications, including infrastructure-as-a-service (IAAS) and platform-as-a-service (PAAS) platforms. Leads and directs all aspects of an organization's cloud systems and strategy. Being a Cloud Computing Director works collaboratively with stakeholders during the development, launch, and refinement of products and solutions. Oversees the requirement gathering activities with stakeholders and vendors. In addition, Cloud Computing Director reviews and approves audit standards, controls, and processes to monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure. Maintains up-to-date, extensive, and deep knowledge of cloud products, technology, and best practices. Pursues solutions or alternatives to best meet the needs of the organization. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Cloud Computing Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Working as a Cloud Computing Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.
