The Cloud Computing Manager manages the development of scalable architecture to support applications and infrastructure on IaaS and PaaS platforms. Oversees the design and management of an organization's cloud systems, applications, policies, and strategy. Being a Cloud Computing Manager guides requirements gathering activities with stakeholders and vendors. Leads the evaluation process to select, implement, and maintain the best cloud solutions for the organization. In addition, Cloud Computing Manager ensures that robust security management and privacy requirements are incorporated into cloud hardware, software, and applications. Establishes audit standards, controls, and processes to monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure. Maintains up-to-date, extensive, and deep knowledge of cloud products, technology, and best practices. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. May require attainment of a certification like Certified Cloud Architect that is specific to a vendor or platform. Typically reports to a director or head of unit/department. The Cloud Computing Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Working as a Cloud Computing Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.
