The Computer-Aided Engineering Technician II assists with the creation of prototypes, layouts, and models for product components, a system, or a manufacturing process using CAE tools. Supports the computer-aided engineering (CAE) design engineering process for products, components, or structures. Being a Computer-Aided Engineering Technician II collects, validates, and prepares data required for CAE processes. Checks and verifies layouts and results of analysis for accuracy and adherence to standards. In addition, Computer-Aided Engineering Technician II typically requires an associate degree in engineering, a related discipline, or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. Being a Computer-Aided Engineering Technician II works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. Working as a Computer-Aided Engineering Technician II typically requires 3-5 years of related experience, or may need 2 years experience with additional specialized training and/or certification.
