Job Description
The Corrosion Control Technician I follow SOP to conduct surveys, collect data and measurements, and prepare documentation and sketches of sites. Tests, monitors, installs and maintains cathodic protection systems used to control corrosion on pipelines, tanks, and other structures. Being a Corrosion Control Technician I inspects, repairs, tests, and troubleshoots systems and equipment in the field. Reads and interprets maps, GPS data, drawings, and specifications used to install cathodic protection systems and equipment. In addition, Corrosion Control Technician I follows all required safety and compliance procedures. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to supervisor. Being a Corrosion Control Technician I works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.
