Job Description

The Cyber Security Manager administers all aspects of technical incident response from initiation to conclusion. Manages the team responsible for investigating and responding to cyber incidents. Being a Cyber Security Manager manages and coordinates all efforts to contain and resolve the incident. Assesses the nature of the incident and determines what resources are needed to resolve the situation. In addition, Cyber Security Manager reviews reports and other documentation to make recommendations on improvements to eliminate risks. Ensures established policies, procedures, and methodologies are being followed. Collaborates with stakeholders to establish and ensure consistent response practices and prioritization of security events. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in computer science. Typically reports to a director. The Cyber Security Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Working as a Cyber Security Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.
