The Digital Forensics Analyst IV investigates cybersecurity incidents using digital forensic techniques and tools. Performs forensic analysis on computer systems and servers. Being a Digital Forensics Analyst IV recovers emails, databases, and other potentially lost or compromised data. Collects, preserves, and analyzes digital evidence. In addition, Digital Forensics Analyst IV documents and reports on findings, and recommends next steps. Evaluates the organization's digital forensic tools and procedures and recommends and implements potentially valuable changes. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. Being a Digital Forensics Analyst IV works autonomously. Goals are generally communicated in "solution" or project goal terms. May provide a leadership role for the work group through knowledge in the area of specialization. Works on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge.
