Job Description

The Director of Facilities Management develops and monitors budgets and approves contracts to meet current and future needs. Directs the design, planning, construction, and maintenance of an organization's facilities and properties. Being a Director of Facilities Management evaluates and selects contractors for facility projects and delivery of services. Oversees all building operations, including repairs, refurbishments, and the maintenance of mechanical, electrical, fire/life safety, plumbing, and waste management systems. In addition, Director of Facilities Management ensures building operations meet service standards and comply with all local laws and regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to functional management. The Director of Facilities Management manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Working as a Director of Facilities Management typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.
