The Distribution Center Operations Manager monitors inventory levels to manage expenses, minimize loss, and maximize revenue. Manages daily activities of a centralized distribution center. Being a Distribution Center Operations Manager may be responsible for evaluating freight services, negotiating contracts, and managing relationships with chosen vendors. Ensures that goods are dispatched on time to the appropriate destinations and in the expected quantities. In addition, Distribution Center Operations Manager may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Distribution Center Operations Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. Working as a Distribution Center Operations Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required.
