Job Description

The GIS Technician/Analyst III extracts data from GIS software and uses varying analysis methods to arrive at results. Utilizes Geographic Information System techniques to provide a better understanding of certain variables in a given geographic location. Being a GIS Technician/Analyst III provides maps and data sets to clients to supplement analysis. Recommends appropriate reactionary strategies in response to GIS analysis. In addition, GIS Technician/Analyst III knowledgeable of GIS software and technology. Works in conjunction with CADD drafters and technicians. Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Working as a GIS Technician/Analyst III typically requires 4 to 7 years of related experience. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.
