Develops and implements procedures for the disposal of hazardous or contaminated materials per governmental regulations. Being a Hazardous Materials Containment Manager monitors and reviews regulations and trends and maintains effective waste management policies and procedures that support business operations. Trains staff in the safe and proper handling of waste materials. In addition, Hazardous Materials Containment Manager typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Hazardous Materials Containment Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Working as a Hazardous Materials Containment Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.
