Job Description

The Head Radiologic Technologist schedules work assignments and coordinates requests for radiologic services. Oversees radiologic services, maintains technical aspects of radiologic safety and evaluates accuracy and quality of X-rays. Being a Head Radiologic Technologist may perform duties of radiologic technologist as needed. Recommends new equipment, equipment modification, and crucial construction within the department. In addition, Head Radiologic Technologist requires an associate degree from an accredited school of radiologic technology, registration as a technologist by the A. R.R.T. Typically reports to a manager or director. The Head Radiologic Technologist supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Thorough knowledge of department processes.
