The Human Factors/UI Design Manager oversees the gathering of requirements from users and stakeholders and guides development of the overall information architecture. Manages a team of designers that apply user-centered design principles to improve the workflow, expand the functionality, and enhance the visual appeal of websites and mobile apps. Being a Human Factors/UI Design Manager requires knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, lineto and FLASH. Leads the creation of new features based on the results from user research and usability testing. In addition, Human Factors/UI Design Manager typically requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to head of a unit/department. The Human Factors/UI Design Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Working as a Human Factors/UI Design Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.
