Job Description

The Information Systems (IS) Supervisor II implements internal procedures and guidelines to diagnose and resolve technical issues across different systems and technologies, including hardware, software, and networks. Supervises the implementation and administration of information systems and equipment in accordance with organizational policies and goals. Being an Information Systems (IS) Supervisor II develops detailed documentation of methodologies, processes, and specifications of an organization's IT systems and coordinates and schedules IT initiatives. Analyzes business needs and recommends IT hardware and software products to support internal business processes. In addition, Information Systems (IS) Supervisor II monitors information systems to ensure computer equipment, hardware, and software operate in alignment with organizational needs and standards. Installs and configures an organization's network infrastructure including LANs, WANs, and wireless networks and monitors network performance. Implements basic security measures to protect systems and data and develops backup strategies and recovery plans. Collaborates with business groups to help utilize information systems to improve operational efficiency. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Information Systems (IS) Supervisor II supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Working as an Information Systems (IS) Supervisor II typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.
