The Information Technology Asset Manager manages the maintenance of records and databases containing information regarding licenses, warranties, and service agreements for the organization's hardware and software. Manages the operations of the IT procurement and inventory management function. Being an Information Technology Asset Manager tracks quality throughout the product lifetime. Minimizes organizational cost through product standardization and tracking. In addition, Information Technology Asset Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Information Technology Asset Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. Working as an Information Technology Asset Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required.
