Job Description

The Manager of Waste Management oversees design and implementation of waste disposal systems. Develops and implements procedures for disposing of hazardous or contaminated materials in accordance with governmental regulations. Being a Manager of Waste Management develops and updates waste management policies and procedures. Trains staff in the safe and proper handling of waste materials. In addition, Manager of Waste Management may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Manager of Waste Management manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. Working as a Manager of Waste Management typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required.
