The Mechanical Systems Engineering Supervisor utilizes CAD software and other design and modeling tools to plan, develop, and improve mechanical parts or components and communicate conceptual designs and specifications to stakeholders. Oversees a team of mechanical engineers that design, analyze, and maintain mechanical components and systems to meet specified requirements and standards. Being a Mechanical Systems Engineering Supervisor implements departmental policies and procedures to delegate workflow and ensure projects are completed on time and within required specifications and quality standards. Oversees prototype testing to evaluate the performance, reliability, and safety of mechanical systems and reviews data and analysis to develop improvements. In addition, Mechanical Systems Engineering Supervisor leads the research and development of innovative or new technologies to improve existing products or processes. Ensures projects follow organizational best practices for design, prototyping, and testing. Requires a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. Typically reports to a manager. The Mechanical Systems Engineering Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures.
