Job Description

The Medical Exercise Physiologist assesses cardiovascular and metabolic effects of exercise for cardiac and musculoskeletal rehabilitation. Develops, implements, and evaluates exercise programs for patients. Being a Medical Exercise Physiologist monitors, measures, and documents patient progress using standards and cardiac and other medical test results. Creates educational materials and conducts training sessions for patients. In addition, Medical Exercise Physiologist may require a master's degree of exercise physiology. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. May require exercise technologist certification. Being a Medical Exercise Physiologist contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Working as a Medical Exercise Physiologist typically requires 4 -7 years of related experience. (Copyright 2024 Salary.com)
