Job Description

The Network Operations and Administration Supervisor enforces policies and procedures that ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, minimize downtime, and support efficient operations. Supervises the daily or shift operations of the organization's network infrastructure, including hardware, software, security, and services, to ensure it meets its performance objectives. Being a Network Operations and Administration Supervisor monitors network performance and logs and documents incidents and changes occurring in daily operations. Trains network administrators and technicians in the best practices, tools, and technologies. In addition, Network Operations and Administration Supervisor troubleshoots and resolves routine network issues and conducts or participates in root cause analysis (RCA) to prevent recurrences and identify potential technological, training, or process improvements. Automates routine tasks using scripting or basic programs. Advises on budget expenditures to ensure required tools and equipment are procured and maintained. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. May require Network Administrator Certification. Typically reports to a manager. The Network Operations and Administration Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Working as a Network Operations and Administration Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.
