Job Description

The Nuclear Medicine Scanning Technician administers and records isotope dosages in accordance with established departmental protocol. Provides diagnostic aid to physicians by conducting organ or body scans on patients. Being a Nuclear Medicine Scanning Technician typically requires a bachelor's degree. Observes patients during procedures and reports any abnormal activity. In addition, Nuclear Medicine Scanning Technician typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. Requires registration with the Nuclear Medicine Technology certification Board, the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (A.R.R.T.), or the American Society of Clinical Pathology. Nuclear Medicine Scanning Technician's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement.
