Job Description

The Purchasing Agent IV inputs transactions and administers a purchasing and contracts system or database. Initiates, prepares, processes, and verifies purchase orders following established guidelines to purchase materials and goods by required delivery dates. Being a Purchasing Agent IV expedites delayed orders and resolves issues with changes, returns, replacements, and credit arrangements. Interacts with suppliers to obtain favorable pricing terms, product specifications, monitor availability, and optimize savings. In addition, Purchasing Agent IV coordinates with internal teams to ensure that procurement needs are met promptly and efficiently. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or team leader. Being a Purchasing Agent IV independently performs a wide range of complex duties under general guidance from supervisors. Has gained full proficiency in a broad range of activities related to the job. Working as a Purchasing Agent IV typically requires 5-7 years of related experience. (Copyright 2024 Salary.com)
