The Radiation Protection Technician II ensures all meters and monitoring equipment is correctly calibrated and maintained. Performs and documents routine radiation and contamination surveys to detect radioactivity levels. Being a Radiation Protection Technician II follows standard procedures to respond to and report incidents. May assist in distributing and collecting personal dosimeters or conducting safety training. In addition, Radiation Protection Technician II typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. Being a Radiation Protection Technician II works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. Working as a Radiation Protection Technician II typically requires 3-5 years of related experience, or may need 2 years experience with additional specialized training and/or certification.
