The Radiation Protection Technician III ensures all meters and monitoring equipment is correctly calibrated and maintained. Performs and documents routine radiation and contamination surveys to detect radioactivity levels. Being a Radiation Protection Technician III follows standard procedures to respond to and report incidents. May assist in distributing and collecting personal dosimeters or conducting safety training. In addition, Radiation Protection Technician III typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. Being a Radiation Protection Technician III independently performs a wide range of complex duties under general guidance from supervisors. Has gained full proficiency in a broad range of activities related to the job. Working as a Radiation Protection Technician III typically requires 5-7 years of related experience.
