The Retail Loss Control Manager is responsible for safeguarding company assets in a defined geographic region. Manages a team of loss prevention staff that monitors premises to reduce losses due to theft and fraud. Being a Retail Loss Control Manager may require a bachelor's degree. Uses employee training and audits to prevent merchandise loss; investigates known losses and coordinates with police on theft prosecution. In addition, Retail Loss Control Manager typically reports to a director. The Retail Loss Control Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Working as a Retail Loss Control Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.
