The Specialist Biologist studies reactions of plants, animals, and marine species to parasites, bacteria, pharmaceuticals and chemicals. Studies the basic principles of plant and animal life and the effects of varying environmental and physical conditions such as radioactivity or pollution. Being a Specialist Biologist may report to an executive or a manager. Requires a graduate degree in area of specialty. Working as a Specialist Biologist typically requires 7+ years of related experience. A specialist on complex technical and business matters. Work is highly independent.
