Job Description

The Speech Pathologist - Home Care conducts evaluations of an individual's speech and language skills using applicable diagnostic materials and tools. Assesses and treats speech and language disorders and impairments in a home care setting. Being a Speech Pathologist - Home Care establishes treatment priorities that include advising, educating, and counseling. Develops treatment plans that utilize appropriate intervention approaches, strategies, and materials. In addition, Speech Pathologist - Home Care completes required documentation to record assessment and progress. Collaborates with physicians, family members, and other clinical providers to provide effective therapies. Ensures that treatment that is provided aligns with patient needs and is within the guidelines set by the payer. May direct support staff in assisting with treatment. Requires a master's degree in speech pathology. Typically requires Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP). Requires State License based on Clinical Specialty. Typically reports to a manager. Speech Pathologist - Home Care's years of experience requirement may be unspecified.
