Supports the organization's storage systems with capacity planning, allocation, monitoring, and actions to optimize the storage systems. Being a Storage Backup/Recovery Specialist V experienced with operating systems and Storage Area Networks (SAN) and backup solutions. Maintains efficient and reliable backup and recovery procedures. In addition, Storage Backup/Recovery Specialist V generates reports on storage usage. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Being a Storage Backup/Recovery Specialist V works autonomously. Goals are generally communicated in "solution" or project goal terms. May provide a leadership role for the work group through knowledge in the area of specialization. Works on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge.
