The Supplier Quality Control Manager develops strategies to identify and resolve vendor quality issues. Manages the evaluation of vendors' operations and products for compliance with company quality standards. Being a Supplier Quality Control Manager establishes techniques for and reviews quality control plans, audits, metrics, testing, and specifications. Leads assessments of potential new vendors and proposed vendor changes. In addition, Supplier Quality Control Manager implements vendor performance improvement initiatives. Reviews reports on assessment activities, findings, and outcomes. Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a director or head of a unit/department. The Supplier Quality Control Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Working as a Supplier Quality Control Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.
