Job Description

The Translator/Linguist reads, comprehends, and rewrites materials in designated languages following established linguistic rules related to word meanings, sentence structure, grammar, and punctuation. Translates written and spoken information from one language to another. Being a Translator/Linguist must follow ethical procedures and policies that protect the confidentiality of information. Must be well versed in vocabulary dealing with specialty. In addition, Translator/Linguist may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Being a Translator/Linguist gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.
